Book Club Unedited: The Forbidden Chapter is a contemporary women’s fiction about friendship, escape, creativity, and laughter that breathes life into you.

Frankie, Hunnie, and Kate are long-time friends nearing forty, each caught in the daily grind of family responsibilities, work, marriage, motherhood, grief, and all the invisible things women carry. What starts as a book club becomes something more—a place to laugh, confess, create, escape, and say the things they usually would never say out loud.

As they begin writing their own spicy novel, the line between research and real life starts to blur. Through friendship, humour, and the joy of making something together, they begin to see that life does not have to feel like one long list of jobs. It can be easier, funnier, and far less lonely with the right women beside you.

This book matters deeply to Melissa. It was written around family, work, washing, cooking, and the general chaos of real life. When writing the book, she drew inspiration from one of the hardest times in her life, when she learnt that no matter your age, or what life is asking of you, friendship can help carry you through.
